Cruising Down Memory Lane

Memories of those good old times with my lady in red

From KL-Phuket

At the thai boarder on the way to Phuket Bike Week 2010

Sepang Circuit

on Thursday, I was handed the key to my new beauty. I can't express how trilled I am to see her in her shinning new fairing. When I first bought the bike, I knew that I always wanted to dress her up in this repsol fairing as the cbr600rr is a replica (not exactly of course) of the RC211V motogp bike that dominated MotoGP when it was ridden by Valentino Rossi from 2002-2003. And now my dreams has come true.
This shows that with hard work and starving yourself, you could own one too.  =D

My New CBR600RR Repsol Fairings

I received a call from the workshop mechanic yesterday to come to his shop to discuss about my front bike's sport rim which is slightly bent.
He suggested that I buy another sports rim as he do not recommend repairing the damaged one because when riding at high speed, the front handle could wobble which could cause an uncomfortable riding experience and endanger the rider which is me of course.
As a new sports rim will cost me around rm2000, I asked if he could find another alternative.

So today when I visited his shop, he told me he had found a second hand front sports rim in good condition and he is willing to give me a reasonable price for it..and so I agreed..

Now my bike is looking as it should be..
A sexy beast wanting to be ridden fast and hard...
Those headlights like eyes looking at me, teasing me to take her for a spin..
The mechanic said that my bike should be ready this Saturday..
Ahh,, I can't wait for Saturday when I know you'll be in my arms again..
but then again the mechanic better not lie!!
Please Mr Mechanic, don't let me wait any longer....

Here are some pictures below..
Sorry about the poor picture quality
My New Repsol Fairing :)

No, the rims won't be green...
It's just there temporarily to make the bike stand to attach the new fairings..

Heartbroken

Today I am feeling the after effects after one of my friend, friend totaled my bike..
I miss riding it :(
The power and sheer joy that she always gave me on the roads..

This tragic event happened last month..
Apparently when I went to the office, my house mate took my keys to my lady in red and took her out for a joy ride.
He then went to his friends house (I am not sure why he went there) to hang out with his buddies and one of them ask him if he could test ride my bike.
I'm do not know if he hesitated to give the keys at the first place or not, but he did gave the keys and then this happened

Ahh I can't watch!!!
Then he called me up to say this and that happen..
Then I was like "!@#%#!%!^&&&!!"

The rider who crashed my bike is in good health..with road rashes of course on his shoulders, knees and elbow..ouch!!

Well I guess thats what you get from riding with wearing shorts, singlet and slippers..
Thank god he was wearing a helmet..
I can't imagine if something else would happened to him..
To make matters worse, that helmet he was wearing was also mine..
Sigh....
I have sent my baby for repairs at a workshop in klang and his 5 mins of joy riding pleasure has costs him rm4,800 (not including damages to my helmet)

I am not kedekut (stingy) with my belongings but when somebody wants to ride it without any prior experience on a sport bike before, I have to strongly say NO, you can't ride my bike because I don't you to accidentally crash and hurt yourself in the process or worse you or somebody else you crashed into could die. Motorcycles could be repaired or replaced but if something bad would happened, I would not know how to face your family and tell them the bad news.

Moral of the story, do not EVER leave your keys of your car or your bike at home!!

I leave you with a link of a story they call the road rash queen partly because she survived a terrible accident riding at the back seat of a Suzuki GSX-R750 http://wiki.sabmagfaq.org/Road%20Rash%20Queen

P/S: Please people, always wear your safety gear before Riding..
